This week spring is in full bloom! The kids had a wonderful time exploring all of the new spring time activities in the room and celebrating their amazing mothers. :)
First up on Tuesday was a face collage art activity. The kids looked at their faces in a mirror and added features to their paper faces using buttons for eyes, wooden beads for noses, red or pink pipe cleaners for mouths, and yarn for hair. These are adorable and will grace the covers of their art books.
For our second project on Tuesday the kids got to experiment with how marshmallows move through space when catapulted! As you might imagine, this was a whole heap of fun. They loved experimenting with using multiple marshmallows.
We opened our Small Friends Flower Shop Thursday and the kids made beautiful bouquets for their mothers. They had a lot of fun picking out colorful flowers for their sweet mamas.
Along with the flower bouquet, the kids made a special gift and helped wrap it up to give to their moms on Mother's Day!
We filled the texture tub with mama and baby animals this week. :)
They also love to play with puzzles.
Frogs and lily pads landed in the water tub this week!
Working with play dough is always popular. The kids make lots of birthday cakes each day at school.
We had a translucent marble run at the light table.
We put out the Lego trains, people, and animals this week at the building table.
Sweet Baby Mabel got lots of love, as always.
Here's a look at your kids playing around the room!
At circle time we read Is Your Mama a Llama? and Mama, Do You Love Me?.
We also read a fun book called Go Fish! and another sweet story called I Like Myself.
We loved seeing the kids' baby pictures and learning more about their homes and families.
We sang fun songs about baby chickens hatching.
Dancing and making music is always a highlight.
The kids pretended to be caterpillars hatching into butterflies!
Next week we start learning all about insects. Wishing you all a wonderful Mother's Day!
Warmly,
Christine and Meghan
