Celebrating moms in the OC! Teacher Meghan

This week the kids got busy preparing some special gifts for their moms. We also did a lot of playing, laughing and learning in between!

On Monday the kids used liquid water color and Epsom salts to create a picture for the front of cards they were making for their moms.

Our second activity on Monday was playing a game called Alphabet Soup. The kids worked on their letter sounds by sorting pictures of different objects into alphabetized soup cans.

On Wednesday the kids took to the easels and painted large flowers based on silk flowers we had displayed.

On Wednesday the kids constructed, dictated and decorated cards for their moms.

On Wednesday we had some 8th grade visitors from Oregon Episcopal School. They came and painted the kids' faces as a culminating activity for a project they had done at school. The kids loved it and had so much fun having the big kids paint their faces.

On Friday the kids wrapped gifts they had made for their moms.

The kids finished out Friday making flower bouquets for their moms. This is one of our favorite projects each year. We love the joy that goes into making these special bouquets for our amazing moms.

The kids continue to keep tabs on the progress of the caterpillars. All of the caterpillars have formed their chrysalis and now we are eagerly waiting for them to transform into butterflies.

At our texture table this week we had mom and dad animals and their babies.

We had a translucent marble run on our light table.

Friends love taking some quiet time to read books in our book nook.

We had frogs and lily pads in our water tub this week.

Orange play dough served as a great base for some amazing creations.

We had paper dolls the kids could dress and decorate at creation station this week.

On our flannel board there were flannel children the kids could dress in a variety of outfits.

We had duplo train tracks set up on our building table.

Here is a peek of your children at play around the room.

Mabel got showered with affection this week.

During circle time this week we read a story called Is Your Mama a Llama? and we sang a song called "Mrs. Goonie Bird"

The kids shared their experiences with panda and their friends practiced giving compliments or asking questions based on the information shared with the class about panda.

We love our library adventures each Friday!

We LOVED our recess in the sun this week!

We hope everyone had an amazing Mother's Day. Your little ones had so much fun creating things to show how much they love you!
Hugs,
Meghan and Christine
