In the water tub we had kinetic sand, planets, astronauts and outer space cookie cutters.
At the light table we had marbles, "moon craters"and a moon marble dispenser which provided a great opportunity for the kids to work on their fine motor skills.
At our building table we had all the perfect components to build awesome aliens.
The kids continue to love putting their photos in outer space on the flannel board.
The creativity was abundant at creation station.
Pink and purple play dough turned into endless squishy fun.
We had a fun new drill with screws that the kids loved experimenting with.
On our carpet we had a "Gravitron" which was perfect for sending kids into orbit and was also an awesome gross motor activity.
We also had out "moon walkers" which were perfect for exploring the surface of the moon.
Baby Mabel got a lot of love this week.
Here is a peek at your sweet kids at play throughout the room.
On Tuesday the kids explored shadows and light using overhead projectors. They placed two and three dimensional objects on the projector to see what kind of shadows they would produce.
On Tuesday our other activity was making colorful stars by melting crayons onto star shaped papers using candle warmers. This sensory sensation was so much fun.
On Thursday the kids made space windows out of paper plates, glitter glue, colorful stars, and foam space stickers.
Our second activity on Thursday was a game called "guess that shadow". Our wonderful helper placed different objects on the projector and the kids had to guess what the object was based on its shadow.
During circle time a friend brought in a caterpillar she found that had formed a chrysalis. The kids were so excited to take a peek at nature in action.
We also went for a rocket ship run, a bear hunt and sang some of our favorite space songs such as "Zoom, Zoom Going to the Moon" and "Bumping up and Down in my Little Space Shuttle".
We also did a little outer space yoga.
We had an awesome week with your sweet kids! Next week we look forward to starting our community theme.
See you on Tuesday,
Meghan and Christine
