What a super fun fall week we had! Leaf observation, drawing a leaf outline, and painting the outline with watercolors started our Monday off on the right note! The thoughtful and colorful art pieces are already laminated and hanging in the room.
Other leaf activities around the room included leaf rubbings with crayons, observation of real leaves and leaf shapes at creation station.
The water tub had an apple pie theme on Monday and Wednesday. We had pie tins, egg beaters, and nets for scooping some acrylic and foam apples. On Friday, the tub changed to a turkey basting station with real cranberries and rosemary. The lovely aroma filled our room. Lots of basting, scooping, pouring and dishing!
We read Livingston Mouse on Monday and put out a game to go with the story on Wednesday and Friday. It was very well received! Ask your student if they remember what Livingston was looking for (answer: China).
Some amazing puzzlers in this class. They put together another 100 piece puzzle this week!
And this puzzle which is a great fine motor skill builder:
And a cute puppy puzzle too.
The texture table on Monday and Wednesday had farm animals, tractors and acrylic leaves and pumpkins for lots of adventures.
On Friday, it changed to turkey pots and feathers!
Also on Friday, the students made some adorable owls from egg cartons.
This is a fun activity to do! start with egg cartons, glue some feathers, googly eyes, feet and voila! The cutest owls!
Many activities around the room such as play dough, building space on the rug, the writing center and the Calico Critter house…so much to keep us active!
Of course we showered Ginger and Scarlett with lots of love!
We read many books together (as we always do)!
We did some yoga.
We sang, played our egg shakers and rhythm sticks, and made birthday cupcakes!
