Winter festivities began this week in the Older Class with two special art projects and lots of fun new activities around the room.
On Monday we made lanterns with glass jars and decorated them with glitter glue and tissue paper in shades of blue and purple.
On Wednesday, the children dipped their hands in green paint to make a super fun hand-print wreath!
On Friday we finished up our lanterns by adding a handle with beads! We talked about what makes each of us special and took picutes and a dictation for their portfolios!
The water tub was filled with bubbles, scrubbers, and trucks! The kids had the best time cleaning all of the vehicles and making lots of bubbles.
We had trees, ornaments, and scoops in the texture tub this week.
The children were extra busy making paper airplanes and collages for their teachers and families this week. :)
We had fun painting in shades of green, red and white at the easel!
Trees, buttons, and gems adorned the light table this week!
We also had trees to decorate on the flannel board!
Here are some pictures of your children hanging out with Baby Mabel and having fun playing around the room!
During circle time we learned fun new songs about a gingerbread house, a teddy bear, a peppermint stick. We also learned the song, "This Little Light of Mine".
We practiced gratitude yoga!
On Friday we held a special friendship circle and talked about what makes each of us special.
We played Jack in the Box!
We read lots of different gingerbread man stories and a fun book about Hanukka!
We lucked out with beautiful weather at recess this week and the children had a great time running, playing, and swinging!
We had such a fabulous week with your wonderful children! See you all next week!
Warmly,
Christine and Meghan
