The students were welcomed into a fall themed classroom on Wednesday. We had the texture table full of flax seed that is smooth, silky soft and oh so fun to play in!
The water tub (no water) had kinetic sand with squirrels, natural wood pieces, chestnuts, bowls and cookie cutters for some more texture fun.
We worked on our memory boxes on Wednesday. The students were able to put a bejeweled spider in the box, share an October memory and add a pumpkin to their little book.
There were several fine motor activities around the classroom like these trees that the student could thread with beads or leaves. And some small teddy bears to dress in a costume.
At the light table we had translucent leaves and acorns to sort into bowls and film canisters.
There was a letter matching acorn activity with upper and lower case letters.
On Friday, the kids did pattern making with colorful pom poms.
At the building table some very colorful tinker toys.
At creation station, the students could decorate an owl or create art out of beans, corn, seeds or fall shaped pasta!
The felt board, where many stories were brought back to life!
As usual, many books were read.
During group time more stories, movement and instruments; shakers in fruit and vegetable shapes, so fun!
Friday Friendship Circle, a question is posed and you may answer when you have the rock that goes around the circle. It’s a very special time.
We checked on our pumpkins outside in the garden, lots of new holes!
Next week we will look forward to ABC Bingo, some apple activities and more fall themes. See you on Monday!
