Spooky Spiders and Circus Memories in the OC - Teacher Christine

This week we switched over our classroom to a new theme and the kids arrived to discover jack-o-lantern cups in the texture table, spiders in the water tub, monster builders at the building table and spooky slime at the light table!

On Monday, the children had so much fun painting their own faces!

We traveled down memory lane and thought about the favorite activities we did during our sunflower and circus themes. Many of the children chose the ice cream social and BJ the Clown's performance as their highlight.

On Wednesday the children created a woven spider web using a a paper plate and yarn. This activity was great for working on  fine motor skills!

Here is a peek at your sweet children playing around the classroom! The creepy creature builders were a huge hit this week.

They also enjoyed stringing beads on pipe cleaner spiders at our fine motor table.

We are getting into the Halloween Spirit!

The writing table is seeing a ton of activity! The kids are making lots of cards and books to share with their classmates and families.

We love getting cozy in the book nook!

This week during circle time we read a non-fiction book about spiders. We also read a funny book called Creepy Carrots and another exciting story called Skeleton Cat.

Playing instruments during circle time is a highlight of the day!

This week, we learned two silly songs about spiders!

More friends shared their amazing summer adventures with the class!

The weather was good to us at recess this week. Lots of children are learning to use the monkey bars - how exciting!

Next week we continue the spooky fun by creating our very own haunted houses! Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us!

Warmly,
Christine and Meghan
