We made ice cream cones to hang in the hallway, mixing glue and shaving cream as topping and adding glitter for good measure. Cutting the cones was great scissor practice and everyone did really well!
We played "circus trick hopscotch" in the hallway, tossing beanbags to different numbers and then performing the tricks or yoga poses that were taped to the squares.
We read books about elephants who could paint and did our own version of "painting with our trunks" at the easels.
And speaking of delicious things to eat...we made our own ice cream. YUM!
Around the room, children played in a circus tent, built with Zoobs, explored translucent shapes, stacked clown blocks, had tea parties and put on shows for each other.
There were many self-guided projects happening at our creation station and writing area. We love to see what your children create!
We learned a scarf song about popcorn and another one about different flavors of ice cream.
It's so fun to see friendships developing and to hear children collaborating and problem-solving together.
In the coming week we will spend one more day with our circus theme, painting our faces and adding treasures to our Memory Boxes. Then we'll have some fun with spiders, bats and all things Halloween. OOOOOOOOOOOOH!
We'll see you all on Monday,
Lisa and Sheri
