Pumpkins and Ghosts in the OC - Teacher Christine

We had so much Halloween fun this week in our OC!

On Monday, the children had a blast finishing up their haunted houses. They decorated their spooky masterpieces with skeletons, centipedes, spiders, and other scary creatures!

The children practiced their scissor skills by cutting lines to create flowing ghosts. These silly ghosts are hanging in the windows - happily haunting our classroom!

On Wednesday we created a spooky night scene using googly eyes, sticks, trees, and shining moons.

The children had a blast zooming through our Halloween themed tunnel with flashlights!

Friday was all about pattern making and shape recognition!

We put giant containers full of ice and scary creatures in our water tub and the kids absolutely loved using spray bottles to melt the ice and free the Halloween creatures!

There's nothing better than pounding nails into pumpkins!

We had a spider web on our flannel board this week. The kids had fun placing bugs in the web and freeing them, too!

The book nook is a fun place to hang out with friends!

Here's a look at your sweet children playing around the room. They are so busy and full of imaginative ideas!

The writing station is still busy as ever as the children make pictures, cards and stories for their families and friends.

We have so many fun Halloween themed books and songs to share together this month. We sang a silly song called "Horns, Fangs, Knees, and Claws" and another one called "If You're a Monster and You Know It".

We also read lots of books about ghosts and haunted houses.

We had a great time outside this week! The kids love to swing, run, collect sticks and leaves, and play family. :)

We can't wait to celebrate Halloween with everyone next week!

Warmly,
Christine and Meghan
