On Tuesday we started our two-day fold over monster project. The children squeezed bright colors onto their paper and folded it over. When they opened it, the paint had transformed into a beautiful symmetrical image!
We played a fun game on Tuesday called "Go Away Monster".
On Thursday, we finished our monster paintings by adding eyes, noses, horns, and feathers! These colorful monsters are up in the classroom. Take a look!
The children met Shape Monster on Thursday and had the best time feeding him different colors and shapes.
We made silly monster faces with play dough.
This week our water tub was filled with noodles, cauldrons, ghosts and ghouls. What fun!
The children used large tweezers to free bugs from a web at the light table.
At our building table we had a haunted doll house to play with, complete with mini cat witches, jack-o-lanterns, and spooky puppets.
Here is a look at your wonderful children playing around the room!
Circle time was full of monster fun this week. We learned a cute finger play about five little monsters and a story about four silly ghosts.
This week, we read an exciting book called The Little Old Woman Who Wasn't Aftraid of Anything. The children really enjoyed the flannel board pieces that went along with the book. We also read Monster Math, and There's an Alligator Under My Bed.
Shape Monster joined us at circle time and each child got to feed him a different colored shape!
Blustery weather is upon us in the Northwest, but the wind and rain don't stop these children from having a blast at recess!
Next week we continue our Halloween fun!
Warmly,
Christine and Meghan
