At the texture table Jack-O'Lantern buckets were filled with all kinds of Halloween toys and trinkets.
Spooky brews, potions and other concoctions were created with the spiders, eyeballs and gooey gobs of spaghetti in the water tub.
There was a "haunted" house on the building table with lots of little figures that were dressed up for Halloween.
Halloween cookie cutters were out at the play dough table (along with lots of spiders) and there were all kinds of black and orange materials at the creation station.
Spiders made out of pom-poms provided some great fine motor practice as pony beads were added to their pipe cleaner legs.
Little witches painted and built with blocks...
There were friends playing with their favorite toys and activities in every corner of the classroom.
On Tuesday we had watercolor crayons and mirrors out for face painting. Some friends painted their own faces while others preferred to paint our very patient parent helper!
We also made spider webs using paint-covered golf balls, generous amounts of glitter, and little plastic spiders.
Thursday the children rolled dice and counted spiders crawling up the "water spout" until they made it all the way to the top!
They made sticky spider webs using contact paper, yarn and spiders. All of the spider webs are hanging in the front of our classroom.
During our story time we sang, "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". We added a verse about a GREAT BIG SPIDER and got to use our great big voices!
We also read, Dark, Dark Tale, sang about elephants playing on a spider web, and played our stick songs.
We always look forward to going outside.
Next week we have lots more Halloween fun coming our way. Thanks for sharing your adorable little spooks with us :)
Until then...
Lisa and Sheri
