The texture table was filled with skeletons, bats, spiders, and pumpkins for lots of Halloween fun!
At the light table the kids practiced their fine motor skills to remove lots of silly bugs from their spider webs.
Halloween play dough fun is going strong! This week, we added vampire teeth, pipe cleaners, straws, and monster eyes. The kids had a great time making both silly and spooky faces!
We had lots of puzzles and fine motor activities to enjoy this week. The kids played a spider counting game, practiced sorting bugs by type and color, and practiced their fine motor skills by stringing beads on colorful spider legs.
The kids had so much fun acting out the book Go Away Big Green Monster and The Five Little Pumpkins finger play on the flannel board.
On Monday the kids played a fun spider web counting game! They took turns rolling dice and then finding the correct number of spiders to put in their basket. They loved crawling under the web. :)
On Wednesday the kids practiced their fine motor skills by playing a spider web cutting game. They used scissors to cut little paper bugs free from the spider's web.
On Friday we had a ton of fun with baking soda spider eggs! The kids used pipettes to squeeze vinegar onto their spider eggs and watched as it fizzed and bubbled to reveal a spider ring!
Free play was full of collaborative building and games. This is such a happy and busy group of kids!
We had such a wonderful week playing and learning together! Next week we decorate our spooky haunted houses and have more Halloween fun with ghost and pumpkin activities.
Warmly,
Christine and Meghan
