Welcome Small Friends! (OC) - Teacher Sheri

We had such a wonderful first week of school with your sweet children! It was especially fun to see familiar friends reunite and new friendships begin to form.

The kids had so much fun going on a scavenger hunt in our garden on the first day!

Inside, they paired up with a friend and made golf ball paintings which are hanging on our wall in the classroom now.

During free play, the kids had fun caring for babies in the loft and playing with toys at the carpet!

They also had a blast doing some of their favorite things, like visiting the water tub & texture table, exploring playdough, and creating art at Creation Station.

In the Older Class, we fill Memory Boxes with trinkets throughout the year that remind us of all the fun things we did. So this week, each child wrote their name on and decorated their very own Memory Box!

At one of our activity tables, the kids played an Ice Cream Scoop game that helped them work on counting as well as hand strength using the squeezable ice cream scoop.

At carpet time, the kids learned their first yoga pose - Tree Pose! Ask them if they can demonstrate it for you! We read If You Give A Mouse a Cookie and retold it on the flannel board. Also, they loved hearing Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do You See? and acting it out afterward!

We are off to a great start and look forward to seeing everyone again next week. :)

Warmly,

Sheri and Lisa
