Valentine's Day Fun in the OC - Teacher Lisa

Our classroom was an explosion of pink, red and purple this week as we celebrated Valentine's Day!

There was colored rice in the texture table, along with vases and flowers for beautiful bouquets.

At the water tub and light table, children could play with colored gems, flower petals, acrylic hearts, and other Valentine materials.

There was red, glittery play dough, perfect for making cupcakes and fancy treats.

Artists were busy at the easels with paint and markers.

The writing table and creation station had lots of supplies for Valentine letters and projects.

Ginger and Scarlet felt the love this week, too!

Our parent projects on Monday were decorating bags and playing a Valentine number game.

On Wednesday we made special pins using buttons, jewels and hearts.

We learned a new "I Spy" game that we can add to our shelves for the kids to play over and over during the month.

Friday everyone got to pass out their Valentines - so fun!!

We did a marbling project with shaving cream and water colors. The beautiful hearts that resulted will be on display in our classroom, so be sure to come in and see them!

During our time together at the carpet, we learned a new song with sign language - "L-O-V-E Spells Love". We read Crankenstein, Try a Little Kindness, and The Queen of Hearts. We did our winter yoga sequence and danced to "Bop 'Til You Drop"

For Friendship Circle we passed a heart around and shared about the things we enjoy doing with the people we love.

At the Library we heard a funny Valentine's Day story about a robot who fell in love with a toaster!

Our outside time was mostly dry - YAY!

This next week we'll have a little more Valentine fun and then we'll launch into a theme about Fairy Tales. We can't believe that spring is almost here!

We hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day and are enjoying your 3-day weekend. We'll see you Wednesday!

Warmly,
Lisa and Sheri
