Happy Valentine's Day in the YC! - Teacher Sheri

What a fun week full of hearts, flowers, and showing friends you care! We made Valentine bags, heart volcanoes, and potions before ending the week exchanging Valentines.

To prepare for the Valentine exchange, the kids stamped their bags with heart stamps and markers.

At the other activity table they picked out candy hearts, sprinkled glitter, scooped baking soda, then added the magic (vinegar) ingredient. Sizzling, foaming color - so fun!

On Thursday the kids used pipettes again to combine gems, colored water and confetti in a little canister for their very own love potion...or magic potion...or whatever they imagined.

It was sweet to see the excitement they all had bringing Valentines and delivering them to one another's bags. We hope they had fun looking through all the kind wishes and goodies when they got home.

During free play the kids explored the texture table, which is now full of colored rice.

They gathered at the water table to scoop and pour.

At carpet time, the kids danced to music, learned new songs, and listened to stories.

We had some nice days outside as well!

As always, we enjoy this class so very much! We look forward to seeing them soon and finishing out February with a bang.

All the best,

Sheri and Lisa
