Our goals for the first week of school were to introduce the children to their new school space, the daily routine, and to allow them to explore freely to try all of the fun activities. There is so much to do! The children explored so much, from play dough to Mr. Potato Head, the loft, and the kitchen area, our days were full and exciting.
The children loved our texture table full of flax seeds and enjoyed scooping, pouring, and finding little bear friends buried in the seeds.
The water tub was also a hit! We poured and dumped and used magnetic wands to fish for polka dots.
At our creation station the children discovered all of the fun materials that can be used to create works of art and, often, gifts for their loved ones. :)
At the writing table, the children, cut, stamped and had fun with stickers. Our second parent-led activity table had a variety of puzzles, and a frog hopper game that was lots of fun!
Our guinea pig, Baby Mabel and Pickle the goldfish got lots of love, too!
The children had an absolute blast at the carpet trying out all sorts of fun new toys. Big hits were dress up, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, and the cars, trucks, animals, and duplo trains.
Recess is always a fun and active time! The children were busy running, swinging, playing with dump trucks and diggers, and exploring the play structure.
We are really looking forward to having them all together this week. Thank you to our parent helpers for all of their amazing work with the children this week.
Big hugs!
Teacher Christine and Teacher Meghan
