At the sensory table, we had a jungle theme with wild animals, greenery, and wooden sculptures to play with.
At the playdough table, we made lots of cakes and pies and pushed clowns into the dough.
At the water tub tigers came to tea and friends made all kinds of silly coffee and tea drinks for everyone!
Friends love to make art at the creation station! This week we had elephants to decorate.
At the light table, we had a great time with translucent castle builders!
At the building table, friends built fantastic skyscrapers and structures and then had fun knocking them down.
In our fine motor and puzzle area, friends created silly creatures, stacked elephants and played games.
On Tuesday we painted paper tea cups using tea bags dipped in liquid water colors. We even had special china tea cups to use for dipping!
Our second activity on Tuesday was a game called Elefun! Our wonderful parent helper took small groups into the hall to watch as our silly elephant blew butterflies from his trunk and the children used little nets to catch them.
On Thursday we had fun painting Elmer the Elephant using sponge stamps.
Our second activity on Thursday was an elephant trunk link game which the kids just loved! They used their fine motor skills to put together links and created long elephant trunks. We also had a barrels of monkeys and had fun creating silly creatures.
At circle time we sang a silly song about elephants playing on a spider web. Teacher Meghan taught us a fun popcorn song. We sang and danced and read a non-fiction story about elephants who paint. Teacher Meghan read us an exciting book called "Ten Minutes Until Bedtime" and we laughed at the funny pictures.
We all discovered the fun of holding Baby Mabel and feeding Pickle the fish.
At recess we enjoyed our beautiful early fall weather.
Next week our circus unit continues with clowns, cloud dough and popcorn. We are looking forward to the ice cream social on Thursday. Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us. We are having so much fun!
Warmly,
Christine and Meghan
