"Snow" Much Fun in the YC - Teacher Sheri

It's feeling like WINTER here at Small Friends! Signs of the season were everywhere this week: shape hockey, melted snowmen, ice cube painting, polar bears and penguins. Let's take a look!

The kids loved making melted snowman pictures. They plopped shaving cream and glue on paper to make "melted snow" and then added all the features of their snowman.

Outside in the hallway, they got some good practice identifying shapes by hitting pictures of shapes with a hockey stick right into a goal!

They painted with ice cubes and that was a really interesting, new way to paint.

We read a book called Whose Footprints and then did our own footprint making and guessing with plastic animals and white play dough.

At the light table, friends played with arctic animals in epsom salt "snow" and glass ice cubes.

Water, gems, and penguins kept the kids busy at the water tub.

A skiier and ski slope set was on the building table to play with.

After singing a fun song called "Ten on a Sled", the kids got to act it out by pretending to sit on a sled and then fall off when the sled "got going!"

It's been wonderful to see this class grow socially! They stay very busy both independently and with each other.

Next week, we will have more fun with penguin art, games, and winter fun!

Take good care,

Sheri and Lisa
