Here are some proud friends with their finished houses!
When they weren't busy working on their houses with one parent volunteer, they were doing something fun outside with the other! On Tuesday they went on a scavenger hunt to find camping supplies. Bug spray, sunscreen, rain ponchos, flashlights, band aids and granola bars were some of the items they had to find and put into their back packs.
On Thursday, armed with a spray bottle and some rubber toys, they sprayed, squeegeed, and then sprayed some more onto an acrylic wall. There were plastic toys that they could stick on and wipe off, and it was especially fun to be able to see a friend doing the same thing on the other side.
At the texture table they could put on safety goggles and hammer nails into big styrofoam blocks. It's kind of fun to have this near the mirrors so that they can see what they look like with the goggles on.
Huge connectable builders were out at the building table and were soon moved over to the floor so that the kids could make giant structures.
There was glitter glue out at the creation station which is always enticing!
Our couch and reading area is often filled with friends who want to relax and listen to some good stories.
Here are some of the other things the kids enjoyed during free choice time.
At story time this week we finished sharing our houses.
We practiced songs for our program and read stories about riding roller coasters, painting houses, and having new adventures. The kids are getting good at their yoga breaths, and we look forward to doing more yoga with them next year in the older class!
We learned a chant about peeling, chopping, stirring and eating delicious soup.
Outside during recess time we had fun playing tag, exploring the play structure, riding bikes and messing around in the dirt.
It's so hard to believe that our last regular week of school is upon us! This has been a wonderful year and we are SO proud of your children and the many ways they have grown this year!
We're going to treasure our last days together!
Lisa and Sheri
