When the kids arrive this coming Monday, they will notice the weaving project they worked on is displayed in the hallway. First the screen was in our room and the kids wove all types of ribbon and string in it. Then it headed down to the other classroom and they added more. This was great for working on fine motor skills and fun to do something collaborative with our friends down the hallway. ;)
This week the kids got to be very creative! They worked on the finishing touches of their layered face project by adding their features like eyes, nose, mouth, eyebrows, and even kitty ears for some.:) We love how these turned out and hope they are a fun keepsake for the kids.
On Friday, we supplied the kids with paint and they got to work painting their t-shirts, which they will wear on Field Day. They really got into making their own unique shirts and we can't wait to see them on!
We decided to take out the beans in the texture table and replace it with nails, hammers, safety glasses and styrofoam boxes. The children hammered and worked to their hearts' content.
In the water tub, we mixed a batch of baking soda and hair conditioner, making a fun sensory dough to form and scoop into plastic ice cream bowls and cones.
The light table featured ponies, jewels, and film canisters. The kids love to sort things and fill containers, so the light table was a great place to do this.
Big building pieces and connectors were on the building table and we saw some great creations being made.
The kids explored the marimba in the classroom and made some music.
At carpet time, we used rhythm sticks and had fun letting the kids lead yoga!
We enjoyed our weekly trip to the library.
Here are some more pictures of fun this class had inside and out!
Warmly,
Sheri and Lisa
