Goodbye Small Friends - Teacher Meghan

This week we filled the room with more of your kiddos favorite things.

In the water tub we had cloud dough which was perfect for making ice cream cones and ice cream sundaes.

At the building table we had giant foam blocks, hammers and nails.

We had a castle with dragons, wizards, knights and princesses at the texture table.

We had a special request for pink play dough this week!

At creation station we cleaned out our drawers and let the kids go bananas with all the random materials we set out. Their creativity was awesome.

For our music lovers we brought in a marimba this week.

When friends needed a quiet moment they snuggled up in the book nook.

We had giant builders on the carpet.

Translucent building blocks, gems and colorful unicorns adorned our light table.

We brought out some new and different fine motor materials.

On Monday the kids filled out their last portfolio page. We asked them about what some of their favorite things at Small Friends were and recorded their responses.

Our second activity on Monday was finishing up t-shirts for Field Day.

As we sent all of the kids' art home we noticed our bulletin boards were looking a little sad. The kids worked collaboratively to make some gadget collage paintings to hang on our walls for the spring program. They loved painting on such huge pieces of paper and had so much fun!

On Wednesday we had a backpack scavenger hunt in the courtyard. Different items that the kids might need during summer vacation (sunscreen, a camera, binoculars and bug spray) were hidden all over. The kids had to find these items based on a clue and put them in their backpack. They had a BLAST doing this.

On Friday we had our Panda Party!!!

There were panda puzzles.

Black and white beads for bracelets and necklaces.

Pandas and black sand on the light table.

White play dough, pandas and bamboo at the play dough table.

And a game where the kids got to feed a panda bamboo.

The kids put their last sticker (a panda) in their memory boxes and excitedly took their memory boxes home.

At our art table the kids could make a paper plate panda or a panda made by spreading paint with a fork and adding panda features.

The kids loved playing in their pajamas with their friends.

During circle this week we shared panda experiences, read some super silly books, practiced for the Spring Program and celebrated a birthday.

The kids loved riding the bikes at recess this week.

We had such a special week with your AMAZING kids. We have loved being a part of your family's life for the past two years and we will miss you all. We are so excited to hear about all your child's new adventures next year, so please keep in touch!
Huge hugs,
Meghan and Christine
