On Wednesday, we had the children create covers for their art portfolios using colorful markers and watercolors! These will be sent home after our spring program.
We busted out our giant wooden building blocks as our second activity on Wednesday and, wow, they had the best time building houses and structures that almost completely covered the carpet area!
On Friday half of the class painted their Field Day t-shirts! They took so much care with these and spent a lot of time making them beautiful.
Our second activity on Friday was a collaborative weaving project. We laid out a giant frame and the kids used colorful ribbons and string make it beautiful. Their friends in Room F had already added their special ribbons, so this was a true Small Friends School collaboration. After they finished weaving, they put in a picture of themselves. This will be displayed in the hallway and at our Spring Program.
Argh, matey! Pirates visited our texture table one last time this year.
The kids loved playing with kinetic sand this year, so we brought it back one last time this week. They always have fun scooping and molding with this fun sand.
The kids love to make art at the creation station. They are so creative with the materials - from books, and pictures to masks and leprechaun traps -- they sky's the limit!
Here's a peek at our play dough station...
We relaxed in the book nook!
Another popular activity this year was slime at the light table, so we brought it back this week. These kids are big fans of slime!
Monster builders invaded our building table again this week...
Baby Mabel loves to get snuggles from the kids. They are so gentle with her.
Here's a look at your kids having fun around the room.
At circle time this week we read a book about a porcupine who wanted a hug and another funny book called There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Book!.
We shared a special friendship circle and the kids talked about how they're feeling about starting Kindergarten next year.
Two more friends shared their Panda adventures with us!
Friday was library day!
The kids love being outside at the end of the day.
We can't believe that next week is our last full week of school! It has been such a great year with your amazing children! We are so excited for their next adventures in Kindergarten, but we sure are going to miss each and every one of them!
See you tomorrow,
Christine and Meghan
