The kids thought the results of all that hard work was delicious.
On Monday the kids played a game called Alphabet Marks the Spot which was a super fun way to work on letter identification and sounds.
Wednesday was Valentine's day! The kids were so excited to pass out Valentines to all their friends.
Our second parent led activity on Valentine's Day was making pink and red slime. The kids worked together to measure out ingredients and then got their hands super gooey as they mixed all of the ingredients together. Each friend got to bring home a sample of their slime.
On Friday the kids discovered they will have new name cards when they return to school after conferences. Starting next Monday the kids will start signing their names when they arrive at school. The kids learned all about this new process and got a chance to practice. They were all really excited!
Our second parent led activity on Friday was a super secret project for Mother's Day!
This week the kids had a blast sorting colored candy hearts into different colored heart shaped containers at the fine motor table.
Glitter glue continued to be a huge hit at creation station this week.
Soft red and pink play dough and toothpicks with hearts and heart shaped cookie cutters were a super fun way to pass the time at the play dough table.
The kids loved an additional few days with the fairies and gems at the light table.
The flower shop continued at the texture table.
The magna tiles were such a hit last week we kept them out for an additional week of tower building. These kids can build some amazing structures.
The kids loved playing hide the heart game on the flannel board with each other this week.
We love watching the kids at play with each other around the room.
At circle time this week we read books about friendship and Valentine's Day.
We sang a song about two cute little frogs.
We worked on letters with Teacher Christine.
And celebrated a birthday.
On Friday we went to the Garden Home library for story time with the wonderful librarian Katrina. We will continue going to the library on Fridays for the remainder of the year. This is a great way to practice so many skills that will help with kindergarten success. We are so excited to have this opportunity!
Just a reminder that the kids do not have class this week. Monday is President's Day. We are so excited to meet with families on Wednesday and Friday for conferences.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend,
Meghan and Christine
