On Tuesday the children all had a chance to carry plastic balls to the top of the loft, drop them into gutters and then watch as they rolled and rolled and rolled down to a friend waiting at the bottom of the stairs. Our adult volunteer helped them take turns and learn how to work together and they did a great job. This activity is always a hit and we will leave this up in the classroom over the next couple of months.
On Thursday we scrunched tin foil into icicle shapes, covered them with glue and then dipped them into a bowl filled with iridescent confetti. The sparkly results are hanging in our windows.
Our second parent-led activity Thursday was using magnifying glasses to examine tiny pictures of snowflakes so that they could be paired with a larger picture of the exact same flake.
Bears, film canisters and pitchers to use at the water table...
Puzzles to put together...
Lots of fun supplies at the creation station...
It was so rainy on Tuesday that we stayed inside and sang some of our favorite songs about going on a bear hunt and waking grizzly bears sleeping in their caves. But Thursday we got to go out and play!
Next week we will do a few more winter activities, have fun with PAJAMA DAY on Thursday, and then it will be time to start getting ready for Valentine's Day. We sure enjoy your little ones and appreciate all you do to keep our classroom running smoothly!
We'll see you Tuesday :)
Lisa and Sheri
