Three Billy Goats Gruff in the YC - Teacher Meghan

The fairy tale fun continued this week with activities that centered around the stories "Jack and Beanstalk" and "The Three Billy Goats Gruff".

One of the highlights of the week was when the kids got a chance to act out the story of "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" during circle time.

They had SO much fun doing this activity that they acted it out on their own during free play.

In addition to testing out their acting skills the kids had fun planting troll hair (grass seeds) and making beanstalks with a paint brush and leaf shaped stamp.

We played two fun games this week. The first was a castle game that had similar rules to Candy Land. The kids loved playing this game with our adult helper and continued to play it when we had it out and available in the classroom later in the week.

The second game was a counting and number recognition game. The kids got to climb up a beanstalk by stepping on giant green feet with numbers written on them. After they practiced counting to ten we would take a few of the numbered feet away and they would have to figure out how to put them back in the right order.

The kids loved playing with all the new items we had out in the classroom this week.

There was dirt and plastic bugs in the water tub.

A castle and dragons were in the texture table.

And a Little People zoo was out on the building table.

Creation Station and the paint easels are always popular spots.

Baby Mabel got a lot of snuggles this week.

Here are some pictures of your kids at play around the classroom.

Next week we explore rainbows! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. We can't wait to see your sweet kids on Tuesday.

Hugs,
Meghan and Christine
