On Monday, the kids had fun making magical fairy wands with unicorns, rainbows, and hearts. They added gems, butterflies, stars and ribbons to make their wands extra special.
Our other activity on Monday was a fun yoga sequencing game. The kids rolled dice to put together a yoga sequence and then did each pose on the carpet. They loved it!
The story of Jack and the Beanstalk inspired our art and science activities on Wednesday. In art, the kids looked at photographs of castles and then drew their own special castle. They glued cotton balls on to the bottom of their drawing to create the illusion of a castle floating in the sky.
At our science table, the kids planted bean seeds! Their castle drawings were glued to skewers and then placed in the bean planting. As the beans grow, they will slowly reach all the way up to the castle!
On Friday the kids had fun imagining what they would do with Jack's golden eggs. Our parent helper took dictation and then the kids had fun drawing their ideas or decorating their page with "golden egg" stickers. :)
We had dirt, bugs, and shovels in the water tub.
They enjoyed playing with translucent slot builders at the light table.
We set up an ABC zoo at our building table.
This class loves to make art at our creation station!
We told the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff on the flannel board one day and then we acted it out the next!
We had fun using rhythm sticks to tell The Three Billy Goats Gruff, too!
The kids love to play drums during music time.
Our class loves stories. One of our favorites is a funny book by Mo Willems called That Is Not a Good Idea!.
We had a couple of beautiful sunny days at recess this week. Spring is on the way!
Warmly,
Christine and Meghan
