On Tuesday the kids used vibrant colors of red, yellow and orange to paint leaves cut out of paper towels. It was fun to watch the liquid watercolor spread and absorb into the paper towels as the kids painted.
Our second activity on Tuesday was identifying circles, squares and triangles and sticking these shapes onto large pieces of contact paper to make shape collages. We hung these colorful collages in our window and they look so beautiful with the sun streaming through.
On Thursday things got a little squirrelly in the classroom! The kids made squirrel snacks which we hid around the classroom for them to find and eat. Just like a little squirrel!
The kids also decorated tree trunks with round gadgets and sparkly paint to display their squirrel faces. This project is on display in the classroom. Come check out all of our little squirrels peeking out of their trunks.
At our fine motor table we had trees made of pipe cleaners and pencils that the kids could decorate with beads and leaves.
We had kinetic sand, buckeyes, orange muffin tins, scoops and sifters that provided endless fun in the water tub.
The kids continued to enjoy playing with our squirrel family in the texture table.
On our light table we had translucent leaves and tree trunks for the kids to decorate.
Paper bags, apples and leaf cut outs were a great base to decorate using markers, fall stickers and dobbers.
We had kool-aid play dough this week which smelled so good and was so fun to squish and mold.
Friends got busy cutting, stapling and coloring at the writing table.
Wooden blocks and fairies were a great way to spark the imagination at the building table.
Here is a peek at friends busy at play around the room.
At circle time we celebrated a birthday, read some funny books about a baby owl who was not scared of anything and a lady who swallowed leaves. We also danced like animals and played instruments shaped like vegetables!
We enjoyed the AMAZING fall weather during recess this week!
We are excited to see everyone on Tuesday!
