This week we had so many new and exciting things for the kids to explore.
On Monday the kids learned all about their new sign-in cards. They got to practice identifying and writing their name with Teacher Christine.
On Wednesday the cards were available at check - in and the kids did an awesome job of signing in before they started their day.
On Wednesday the kids started a two part art project creating birch trees in winter. On the first day they created the trunks of birch trees using pieces of blue painters tape. Next the kids water colored over their entire paper. They then sprinkled epsom salts over the wet water color to give the illusion of snow falling.
On Friday the kids removed the painters tape and then used sharpie to add dimension and detail to their birch tree trunks.
Our classroom was abuzz with love this week.
At creation station we had hearts, heart doilys, heart stickers, and a variety of other items to create amazing valentine art.
At the play dough table we had purple play dough, heart plates, heart cupcake liners, heart shaped cookie cutters and heart toothpicks to help get the creative juices flowing.
At the water tub we had insta snow, heart cups, shovels and translucent plastic hearts. It was a random and fun combination.
At the light table we had translucent builders.
At the building table we had out slot builders for creating a variety of structures.
