The winter fun continued in the classroom this week. On Wednesday the kids went ice fishing for letters and used these letters to spell simple words in a game called Polar Bear ABC. The kids loved playing this educational game.
On Friday the kids made melted snow people. First the kids painted a blob of melting snow using a combination of shaving cream and glue. After they painted their snow blob they added features including a hat, button eyes, twig arms and scarves. This art project turned out so cute and the kids had a blast creating them.
Around the room we had new things at each of our centers for the kids to explore.
At the texture table we had polar bears, huge blocks of "ice" and sparkly translucent fish.
In our water tub our Arctic creatures took a trip to the beach and the kids enjoyed playing in kinetic sand for the week.
On our light table we had sparkly gems, mirrors and huge translucent snowflakes.
Our budding artists kept busy at the paint easels and creation station this week. Mask making, giant snowflakes and paper airplanes were a few of the fun results of the kids creativity.
Magna tiles are a really popular building material in the classroom right now and the kids love to create amazing structures with them.
The kids love to play independently and with each other and we always enjoy seeing them in action.
At circle time this week Teacher Christine taught the kids a poem about a kitten who lost her mitten.
Teacher Meghan taught the kids a super silly song about penguins who come to tea.
The kids have done an awesome job adapting to our new temporary schedule of eating outside before they go play on the playground. We are super proud of how adaptable they have been with all of the changes.
We had such a fun week playing with your little ones. Next week is also a short week. We have school on Monday and Wednesday and no school on Friday the 28th due to a teacher planning day.
Hugs and thanks for sharing your wonderful children with us,
Meghan and Christine
