It was not the week we had planned, and we had a smaller group on Thursday, but we made the most of it and had a very fun morning!
Our "feature" activity was making melted snowman collages using a mixture of shaving cream and Elmer's glue.
There were penguins with styrofoam ice bergs in the water tub, and the polar bears are still in our texture table.
At the light table small arctic animals were covered with Epsom salt snow, and there were lots of clear ice-like toys to play with.
In our fine motor area, the wind-up toys are always fun to take out, and there is a new magnetic maze that the kids are enjoying.
There were mittens to decorate at the creation station, with some new collage items to explore.
Our chef was busy in the kitchen, making all sorts of delicious dishes for us to sample. We did not go away hungry :)
We have some new dress-up clothes and accessories - we think every health care provider deserves a super-hero cape these days, don't you?
Here were some of the other things going on around our classroom Thursday:
During our story time we danced to a shaker song, read a story about a windy day, did a cut-and-tell story about snow cake, sang our melting snowman song, and practiced our ABCs.
It was a little drizzly, but we got outside to play, and everyone did a great job with our new snack routine.
We'll keep most of these same things out in our classroom this week and look forward to more snowy fun with your sweet kiddos!
We'll see you soon,
Lisa and Jelena
