More wintery activities with the YC- Teachers Jelena and Lisa

We started off the week with soft, squishy shaving cream! If the snow isn’t outside we’ll make it inside! We painted it on animals and some of our play dough trucks. A few of the students really got into having it on their hands.

And washing was fun too!

And on Thursday the kids made super colorful fold over mittens that we will use in our play next week.

The water tub had penguins, icebergs and gems for lots of pouring and exploring adventures! Many of our students were experimenting like scientists: measuring containers, checking water levels, and collecting samples.

There was “snow” (epsom salt) to spoon into small containers, arctic animals and crystal gems at the light table.

We had trucks and water wheels with the rice in the texture table.

Painting and play dough are usually bustling with activity!

Creation station had some marshmallows and toothpicks for building as well as the usual cutting and gluing.

All the dress ups, especially the Anna and Elsa costumes, are getting lots of use (the ruby red slippers too)!

Lots collaborative play on the rug!

Around the classroom we enjoyed lots of delicious meals from the kitchen, puzzles, numbers, and the stickers and stamping in the writing area.

Our classroom pets, Ginger and Scarlett were groomed, fed some veggies and well loved!

We made our scarves into hats, danced and read some snowy adventure stories.

We love our outdoor time, rain or shine!
Trucks, hide and go seek, puddles, worms, our play structure…the possibilities are endless!

Another fun week comes to an end! We will conclude our winter activities this upcoming week.
We love being back in the classroom with all of your marvelous children, they are handling our new routine really well.
See you all Tuesday!
Warm regards,
Teachers Jelena and Lisa
