January fun ends with snow and snowmen in the OC-Teachers Jelena and Lisa

We concluded the month of January with observational drawings and watercolors of our ivory snow snowman. The students worked with wonderful focus on their masterpiece paintings which will be added to their portfolios.

The fishing polar bear game provided lots of letter recognition fun.

We enjoyed a counting game with written number recognition.

At the building table, we had a mitten/glove clothesline where the students could work on fine motor skills (squeezing clothes pins) and mitten/glove matching. Some children chose to try the gloves on, which takes a bit of doing!

At the light table, we had translucent Duplos and mirrors.

The students worked on their memory boxes on Wednesday and we had such a good time that we only got one picture!

We added recyclables at our creation station which led to very creative outcomes!

We enjoyed lots of penguins in some Insta-snow in the water tub.

And in the texture table we dug around for little treasures of snowmen and peppermint candy erasers for some all-round scooping fun!

We took care of Scarlett and Ginger…

And cared for many of our pets and babies at our clinic. Ask your students if they worked or visited our clinic last week!

We acted out our story of “Ten in the Sled”. Our sled was a very safe quilt from our reading area!

We played our big drums.

We danced to some fun songs.

We read lots of stories…

And we played with our friends.

Our recess time was very foggy one day, sunny the next day, but both were frosty. We still had loads of fun!

We had so much fun with everyone in January. We hope your kids did as well!
We are looking forward to many new activities like Chinese New Year (Year of the Tiger), PJ Day, and Valentine’s Day just to name a few.

See you all on Monday.
