Ivory Soap Snowmen in the OC - Teachers Lisa and Jelena

Well, there hasn't been any snow outside, but we are bound and determined to keep it going inside! This week the kids made sticky snow out of Ivory soap, toilet paper and water. On Wednesday they shredded soap, tore paper, sprayed water, and mixed it all together.

On Friday they added lots of other embellishments to create people, aliens, and even a Peregrine falcon! It was so fun to see what they came up with! On Monday, they will do an observational drawing of their creations.

They had SO much fun continuing to use the new dress-up costumes and accessories. There were doctors and veterinarians busily caring for various humans and animals around the room.

Anna and Elsa traveled to Hawaii.

We had an extravagant tea party.

Our resident banker kept busy taking phone calls and handing out money as customers requested it.

The creation station/play dough table is always a great place for sharing ideas and making things together.

We left the water table, building table and light table the same this week, since we only had one day with it last week. We also brought the marble run out on Friday for one more day of maze building.

There was a new snowflake matching activity out, and we left the marshmallows and toothpicks out for anyone who was still interested in creating structures.

Here are a few more photos of the things kids were busy doing during our free play time.

Everyone's doing a great job with our new recess schedule!

At story time we danced with shakers and scarves, listening to the song lyrics to see what to do next.

We played our drum song, and also used our drums for a version of the song B-I-N-G-O, using the word F-L-A-K-E instead.

We read a story about a magic snowman who came to life and for our Friday Friendship Circle, everyone shared what they would do with their own magic snowman, or what they would build out of snow if they knew it could come to life.

We still have a few wintry activities up our sleeves, but it will soon be time to get ready for Valentine's Day - always such a fun time of year with little ones!

Looking forward to the days ahead with your sweet kiddos! As always, thanks for sharing them with us :)

Best,

Lisa and Jelena
