Aaargh, Spiders in the OC! - Teacher Sheri

Creepy, crawly spiders and webs were everywhere this week! They headlined in our stories and songs and were a fun part of our games and activities. Read on to see what we were up to!

The kids placed the first items in their Memory Boxes  - a sunflower for the beginning of the year and a red puffball "clown nose" to remind them of our circus theme.
Then, as part of the trip down memory lane, the kids loved having the chance to paint their own faces!

Some skills we worked on this week were scissor skills and fine motor skills. While playing Walter's Wiggly Web, they were reminded how to hold scissors and work on the basic action of snipping.

Their fine motor skills got some action when they wove yarn through holes in paper plates to make spider's webs. Those are hanging in our classroom window now so come take a look at all the awesome webs!

Lots of kids visited the spiders and waterspout in the water tub as well as the basket of spiders on the light table.

We read a non-fiction book all about spiders and two funny ones called Aaaargh, Spiders and The Spooky Box

This class is really playing well together and had lots of fun in the classroom.

They also had some great outside play time!

We have added skeletons, bone builders, and slime to the room for this week and can't wait to share it all with you!

Take care,

Sheri and Lisa
