Lunar New Year and P.J. Day in the OC! - Teachers Christine & Meghan

This week we combined themes with both Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day. We started the week off with a super fun pajama and stuffy day!

On Monday, everyone came to school cozy in their pajamas. The children loved showing their stuffies all around the classroom and had a blast making crowns, necklaces, and bracelets for for their special friends.

On Wednesday we made Borax crystals using pipe cleaners and popsicle sticks. The kids were super excited to see that the crystals started forming so quickly.

On Friday, we used fun smelling markers, stickers, and colorful stamps to decorate bags for Valentine's Day. :)

Our water tub was filled with snakes this week!

The children loved playing with translucent blocks and unicorns at the light table.

The art easel and creation station were filled to the brim with hearts, stickers, and other fun materials to make Valentines for friends and families.

We moved our much loved magna tiles to the building table.

We had a counting game with chopsticks, dice, bowls, and candy at the game table.

We had fun reading in the book nook and playing a fun Zodiac game on the flannel board.

Baby Mabel loves her daily salads and cuddles!

Here are a few pictures of your children playing around the room together!

We switched a few toys with Room F and the kids are really enjoying playing with the new car ramp.

They were inspired to build their own car ramps too!

The kids LOVE to put on puppet shows for their friends!

We also added a fun rocket ship to our classroom.

Lots of collaborative play is happening around the room each day!

As always, the kids love to listen to stories! This week, we read a Valentine's Day love bug book, and stories about Lunar New Year.

We did a special dance with our stuffies on pajama day. :)

We learned about the 12 Zodiac signs with a fun flannel board game.

On Friday, we held a special friendship circle. Each child took a moment to think about someone they love and shared it with the class.

The kids are doing great and have adjusted to the new snack and recess routine! We were super lucky to have beautiful spring-like weather this week.

We are looking forward to celebrating Valentine's Day in the Older Class on Monday!

Warmly,

Christine and Meghan
