Holiday cheer in the YC-Teachers Jelena and Lisa

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year” from the 1960’s song by Andy Williams rings so true for our vibrant and fun loving younger class! We had such a fun week playing with some familiar and some new items in the classroom. The candy builders at the building table were a big hit!

There was a magnetic tree to decorate, alone or with a friend.

More tree decorating at the light and texture tables.

At creation station, gluing with glitter glue and a brush was a whole new experience.

A very sudsy car wash with sponges and brushes kept us entertained. We have the cleanest cars in town!

On Tuesday, Teacher Lisa took a photo of each of the students to use with their holiday gift to their families which were then finished on Thursday. Just a few sneak peek photos of the creative process to not ruin the surprise!

We had an assortment of tops for some really fun fine motor building.

Dressing up, painting in bright holiday colors, baking cookies and sharing them…

And many other activities we enjoyed with our friends and some by ourselves included shopping, puzzles, cars/airplanes, ball run, patterns with pom-poms, and retelling stories at the felt board.

Lots of cutting and writing as well as typing in the writing area.

The beautiful green play dough morphed into anything from a cookie to a bejeweled candle filled treat, to a hill where trucks got stuck and had to be towed!

We danced with scarves and bell instruments and read lots of fun and interesting stories.

We play outside as often as we can, even if it’s a bit drizzly.

It has been so fun to watch your kids really grow these past few months! We have just 2 more classes before we are off for winter break and we have more holiday fun planned to finish off the year.
