The Three Little Pigs in the YC - Teacher Christine

We had so much fun this week exploring the magic of fairy tales! We started off the week with the story of Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf and ended it with The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The kids loved doing art projects based on these classic stories.

On Tuesday, the kids had a blast making "muddy" pigs. They used their fingers and paint brushes to get the pigs extra muddy. They added googly eyes and pig noses for extra flair to their cute and very muddy pigs.

At our science station on Tuesday, we gave the kids a basket full of assorted object and a container of water. Their task was to predict which object would sink and which would float. They did a great job!

On Thursday, the kids made the most adorable trolls using play dough and a variety of decorations -- googly eyes, pipe cleaners, beads, gems, and straws. These are on display in the case outside of our classroom. Take a peek at our adorable new troll collection!

We had another prediction activity on Thursday, this time involving The Big Bad Wolf. Each child predicted whether or not the "Big Bad Wolf" (aka a hair dryer!)  could blow each object across the table. This was so much fun!

We added cute trolls, rainbow bowls, and golden coins to our texture table.

The kids absolutely loved our water tub full snakes, water beads, and nets!

We added new cookie cutters to the play dough table this week.

The kids loved checking out new books and playing with the farm scene and the three little piggies scene on our flannel board.

We surprised the kids this week with a castle at the building  table. They loved it so much!

Here are a few sweet pictures of your kids with Baby Mabel!

Here are some pictures of your kids playing around the room!

This week, we told the story of The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf at circle time.

We introduced rhythm sticks to our circle time routine. The kids did a GREAT job using these safely and having so much fun learning different ways to make music with these instruments.

We read The Three Billygoats Gruff and then we acted it out!

We had fun with "This Little Piggie Went to Market". :)

We introduced the kids to Unicorn Yoga!

We celebrated a special birthday, too. :)

Circle time sure is sweet...

It was chilly outside, but we had lots of fun swinging and playing hide and seek together!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful kids with us!

See you next week!
Christine and Meghan
