Thanks for the Memories - Teacher Lisa

What a fun and busy final week together! We finished up projects, added final pages to our portfolios, celebrated Panda and got ready for our program.

On Monday we had kind of a "catch up time" at our art table. Kids were able to finish painting their Field Day t-shirts and add the last layer to their self-portrait projects.

At the other table they added one more page to their portfolios, dictating and drawing about their favorite preschool memories. It was interesting to hear about what they liked the most and many of their comments were about playing with friends ❤.

Wednesday was our Panda Day and it was so fun to see everyone in their pajamas! We had all kinds of things out around the classroom to celebrate our special friend.

There were panda puzzles to put together.

Kids could make panda headbands, necklaces and/or bracelets.

There was black sand for toy pandas to play in.

After adding a panda sticker to the sticker books in their Memory Boxes, children got to bring these wonderful collections home. We hope they all had fun sharing them with you!

There were a couple of different projects out at the art table. One was making a panda face on a paper plate, and the other involved making a panda face by painting with a fork. These have been tucked carefully into the children's portfolios which we will hand out at our program on Wednesday.

At the play dough table there was white play dough along with bamboo stalks and wooden pandas to play with.

There was a huge panda face with its mouth open wide waiting for food! The kids could toss bamboo through the hole and liked peeking through it, too.

On Friday we went on a camping scavenger hunt. The kids headed outside with backpacks and then hunted for camping supplies based on clues they were given. See if your camper can tell you some of the things s/he had to find!

We also made gadget print murals so that our walls won't look quite so bare once all of our other art projects come down.

We had a big box that we put out for fun, and it was a HIT! The kids played inside, outside and all around it.

When the classroom wasn't full of panda activities, there were lots of other things to do. The tub had water, summer shapes and lots of big containers for filling and dumping.

There were some new 100-piece puzzles that the kids put together, no problem!

At the light table, there were "old school" Light Brites to explore.

The building table was full of Potato Heads.

Luckily, the hospital was still up and running for those who needed care from our excellent medical staff.

During our time at the carpet, we celebrated summer birthdays, went on a Bear Hunt, and practiced songs for our program.

On Friday we showed the kids a magic trick: "Cake-in-a-Bag." They'll have a chance to make one of their own during Field Day if they would like to.

We played outside and got caught in a rainstorm!

These final days have gone way too quickly. We are grateful for all of the memories we've made together, and will treasure them long after you are gone.

Here's to all of the wonderful adventures that lie ahead!

Love and huge hugs,
Lisa and Sheri
