All is Merry and Bright in the OC - Teacher Meghan

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the OC this week. Santa's little helpers were busy making decorations for the classroom, weighing presents and "baking" cookies.

At the light table we had translucent trees and a bunch of fun things to decorate them with.

We had candy builders at the building table which were used for building and for an elaborate game of candy hide and seek.

Trucks and cars got cleaned at the Small Friends car wash this week.

Christmas trees got decorated all around the room! This was such a fun and festive way to work on fine motor skills.

The kids made string paint Christmas trees on Wednesday and hand print wreaths on Friday.

The kids used scales this week and made predictions about how many plastic bears it would take to equal the weight of  different presents of varying weight.

On Friday the kids learned how to make paper chains. They made a HUGE collaborative paper chain that we have hanging in class.

Creation station was a busy place this week and the kids imaginations always astound us.

Here is a peek at your sweet kids at play around the room.

At circle time this week we read several variations of the gingerbread man. We learned a new winter yoga sequence and some fun new songs and finger plays about bears and bells.

The holiday fun continues next week as we get busy making presents for our families!
We are so thankful for your wonderful kids,
Meghan and Christine
