Our classroom chicks finally arrived! We hatched 10 beautiful chicks. On Tuesday one of our parent supervised activities was helping the kids hold the chicks.
We had a fairy house, fairies and butterflies in our seed table this week.
Our fine motor table had a "feed the baby chicks" activity on it. The kids used large wooden tongs (beaks) to pick up bugs and put them in the bird nest.
We had slime and scissors on our light table.
Our water table had plastic eggs, watering cans and basters for lots of pouring and squirting fun.
Play-doh is always a popular activity.
On Tuesday we made handprint chicks.
On Thursday we made plastic egg shakers. We will use these in our end of year program for a cute chicken song.
Our second activity on Thursday was a number identification game. We had plastic eggs that had numbers on them with a baby chick hidden under one egg. The kids identified the number and then checked to see if they guessed the egg with the hidden chick.
Here are some pictures of your kids during free play.
As always, thank you for sharing your children with us!
