Its the final countdown... YC Teacher Meghan

We turned the classroom into a summer extravaganza this week. All the activities around the classroom represent all the best of summer.

In the water table we had beach toys, ocean creatures and shaving cream!!

In the texture table our groovy girls were enjoying a lovely picnic at the park.

At our building table we had logs and woodland creatures, reminiscent of a hike in the woods.

At our light table we had an ocean game.

On our felt board we had an underwater ocean scene.

At our play dough table we had a bunch of objects from "nature" for the kids to create with.

At creation station we had items out to make delicious popsicles.

On our carpet we had a tent and some camping chairs set up to create a camping scene.

All around the room we had fun summer themed puzzles and games for the kids to do.

One of our parent led activities on Tuesday was creating a campfire using strips of sandpaper for logs and red and yellow paint for the flames.

Our other parent led activity on Tuesday was making a little something special for Dad for Father's Day.

On Thursday the kids wrapped their Father's Day gifts and got a chance to look through the song books we have compiled from the school year.

Our other parent led activity was going on a nature walk and collecting interesting items from their environment.

During circle time this week we celebrated a couple of birthdays and the kids finished sharing their houses.

Teacher Susie also showed the kids how much the sunflowers have grown that they planted and asked the kids to check up on them in the garden when they come to water this summer.

And of course we sang, played instruments and did a little program prep!

The kids got one last swing and tour around the playground with the trucks during their last recess.

It has been such a joy and pleasure teaching your kids this year. We have loved every minute of it. To our families moving on to other adventures we will miss you terribly, please keep in touch. To our returning families, we are so excited to see you in September. Until then, huge hugs!
