A little bit of this and a little bit of that, YC-Teacher Susie

This week we wrapped up working on the houses that the kids made.  They turned out beautifully and your kids worked so hard on them!  We have still been talking about families and what makes us special as individuals.  We also finished our unit on caterpillars and butterflies.

We often have a theme running throughout our room but this week we have a little bit of this and a little bit of that!  We have brought back some of the things your kids have loved and some new things based on what your kids have showed interest in throughout the year.

Our seed table is filled with horses of all colors and sizes.

Kinetic sand was so popular we brought it back out this week.  We have little jungle animals and shovels added to the tub.

Sea creatures have found their home in the flubber on our light table.

Our building table has a doll house on it this week.

We have lots of new puzzles and matching games for the kids to explore.

Creation station has cut out butterfly shapes available to decorate.  We also set out pipe cleaners and beads.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar pieces are on our flannel board. The kids can use the pieces to re-tell the story and put it in the correct sequence.

Our parent led activity on Tuesday was to make our own Very Hungry Caterpillar bags.  We used the caterpillars that we made last week and let the kids pick out pre-cut food pictures to show what their caterpillar ate.  We also let them decorate their bags.

We completed our bags on Thursday.  The kids made butterflies and used all the pieces in their bags to tell their version of the Very Hungry Caterpillar story.

Our other parent led activity on Tuesday was teaching the kids how to play The Very Hungry Caterpillar board game.

On Thursday the kids made a collage of their face.  They started by choosing a skin tone that was on a pre-cut face. Then, they decorated their face with yarn, buttons and pipe cleaners

Here are some pictures of your sweet kids immersed in play.

The kids are doing an amazing job sharing about themselves and their families in front of the class.

Thank you for coming to our tour of homes!

Music time is always a blast!

Thank you for sharing your children with us!
