Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow-YC, Teacher Susie

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

We were bummed that our school week was shortened due to snow, but we had a great day on Tuesday with your children.

We had puppet shows, read holiday books and played with our Playmobil winter scene.

The kids really enjoyed beading candy canes.

We had a fun game for our math table.  The kids rolled dice, counted the number they rolled and placed the corresponding number of magnetic bows onto the magnetic wrapped gift.

We had a lot of fun playing musical instruments and practicing for our program.  The kids did so great and were bummed that we had to cancel due to the weather.  We hope to give you a very informal sample of the songs when we get back to school.

We hope you all have a great winter break and very happy holidays!

Thank you for sharing your children with us,
Teacher Susie and Teacher Meghan

Candyland! OC, Teacher Meghan

What better way to start off our week then a day full of games and activities where the kids got to play with CANDY!

At the art/literacy table on Monday the kids had the opportunity to decorate their own gingerbread houses using a variety of red and green confection treats.

At the math/science table the kids got to play a game which involved candy, a "gingerbread house" and counting! They counted candies, found the pocket with the corresponding number on our "gingerbread house," and then placed a candy cane inside. At the end of the activity, they each got a candy cane to keep.

On Wednesday at the math/science table the kids reflected on their favorite memories from December and added some special items to their memory boxes.

On Wednesday at the Art/Literacy table our little elves got busy decorating bags that would hold all the amazing gifts they had made for their families over the past few weeks.

One of the activities available for the kids this week was making presents at creation station and wrapping them using holiday paper, scissors and tape. The kids loved this activity and spent a lot of time making and wrapping items for their friends and family.

We brought back the candle warmers and crayons for the kids to make paper tree ornaments. This is always a huge hit!

The kids had a wonderful time exploring and playing all around the room this week. As always the classroom was full of energy, laughter and lots of play!

During circle time this week we had a "thankful circle" where the kids talked about things they were thankful for. We continued to read wonderful holiday books and we practiced for our program. On Wednesday we celebrated a birthday!

We already miss your sweet kids! Have a wonderful winter break and we will see you in 2017!
